I recently came across this draft of a post I started over a year ago about the differences between Silas and Titus... so these first two memories are from a year ago but they are really funny:
Silas (yelling from downstairs): "Mom, I need my blankie!!"
Titus (talking to himself): "Where my blankie? Oh, upstairs. I get it."
Silas: "Mom, I need some toast!"
Titus: runs to the bathroom, gets stool, carries it to the kitchen, climbs up on the counter and retrieves a banana. "I got a na-na!"
I was also spending some time lately going through old blog posts and reminiscing. I was amazed at how the boys' personalities came out even at a very young age. In this post I came across from when Silas was less than 3 months old, I laughed at how even THEN his "serious" face was his most common. He still is a very serious boy, and very concerned about knowing what's going to happen, when it's going to happen, and why it's going to happen. In another post from when he was 10 months old, I put a picture of him snuggling his blanket. Up until a couple months ago when he gave up the thumb sucking, he would look exactly like this!
At 6 months old, Titus was already getting into everything, and my post from 8 months also shows that he was already climbing everywhere and enjoying anything that makes lots of noise! He still is the louder one, and not at all intimidated to try new things. Silas will approach most new things very cautiously, while Titus will rush headlong into it, then stop to assess the situation.
I've highlighted their differences before, and all the way back here I could see the little people they were becoming. Even though they are opposite in a lot of ways, they play super well together, and come up with some really crazy, imaginative games. I can't imagine what either of them would be like without the other!

When number three comes, you will have three opposites. I know it is mathematically impossible looking forward to it, but after he comes it will be your new reality.
Love, Mom.
