Snow, snow, and more snow!

We had a record snowfall for our area - almost a foot! We were swimming in it for days. The boys had fun trekking through it and building a fort.

Spring Snow

This winter we had a couple of dustings of snow here on the valley floor, and the boys headed out each time to eat it or hit it with golf clubs.

Then spring came and we got 5 inches of snow!

I built them a fort which they called the "fortress of solitude" and Batman and Superman hung out in it til they got too cold.

There was still much eating of snow, both inside and out:

First snow of the year

I'm a little late getting to blogging, but better late than never right?

Just before Thanksgiving we had enough snow to cancel school around here... which means this much:

Still, it was enough to thrill Silas (Titus was napping at the time).

Although, arguably his favorite part was drinking hot chocolate afterward.

It's Snowing!

Silas was pretty excited to come downstairs this morning and discover that it was snowing (as he says, "sa-NO").

He wanted to run right out the backdoor in his p.j.s, but I made him get dressed first. I even got him to wear a hat, which he never does! I tried to convince him he needed mittens, but he kept saying "mi-tens off" so I let him go without at first.

Then, when his hands got really cold, he came over to me and held them up and said "kiss!" Apparently mommy's kisses can fix not only owies but also extreme coldness. I warmed them up and tried the mittens again. He inspected them for a while then pulled them off once more. But the hat stayed on the whole time!

Titus has a runny nose so he had to stay inside. He watched the snow fall through the window while sitting in his high chair.

SNOW!

We had a rare opportunity this weekend to see snow in the Willamette Valley, so I bundled Silas up and took him out to build a snowman. He just stood there the whole time (he was not used to the boots) but he was very interested. Now he will point outside and say, "snow!"
