Waiting for Spring

The weather keeps tricking us and being nice and sunny one day then rainy and cold the next. This weekend was a little chilly and Titus had a stuffy nose so he had to stay inside while Silas got to go in the backyard and play with his ball.

I guess Silas felt sorry for him and came over to say hi. I'm a little embarrassed by how dirty my windows are in this picture, but you can see how they get that way:

Ag Fest

We took Silas to the Ag Fest in Salem this year. He got to see lots of animals ("cow moooo"), ride on a tractor ("tractor zoom!"), plant a tomato seedling ("throw dirt!"), color, eat ice cream ("nummy creamy"), and do lots of other fun things. His favorites were...

The horses:

Petting baby chicks:

Silas-isms

It's both hilarious and fun having a talking toddler. Here's a few of Silas' favorite phrases:

"more some" (when he wants more of something that he doesn't know the name of)
"car zoom" (said fairly constantly when we first get in the car)
"car movie" (he's hooked on Disney's Cars)
"choo choo train" (he can hear the train from a mile away -he'll stop what he's doing and listen and say this phrase over and over again until he can no longer hear the whistle)
"mama pretty" (Matt taught him this, it's quite precious)
"no TyTy!" (Titus likes to reach over and grab his brother during stroller rides and car rides)
"cool dude" (this one is new, I taught him to say it when I put his sunglasses on - need to work on getting a picture of that!)

Titus: 7 Months

Let's see what I've accomplished this month....

Pass up 20 lbs on the scale - check!

Drool all over the place - check!

Get into mom's stuff - check!

Start climbing the stairs - check!

Get a cool hairdo - check!

What an exhausting life! And yet, I still have the energy to get mom up at 6:15 a.m. most days.
I'm just that cool.

Easter Egg Hunt

Weeks of training from Grandma Kaye on the skill of finding Easter eggs paid off today as Silas participated in his first Easter egg hunt. Grandma has been hiding plastic eggs around her house for him to find when he visits. So when we left this morning and I asked him if he wanted to find some Easter eggs, he got really excited. It was impossible to keep him still while we waited for it to start, he just wanted to take off running:

The hunt was over almost as fast as it began.... 1,200 plastic eggs were no match for a couple hundred kids. Here's Silas inspecting his loot:

Usually Silas is pretty shy around strangers, and he flat out refused to sit on Santa's lap at the fire department Christmas party, but apparently a bunny is a whole different matter:

Tricks:
~ Running into a corner to hide while he fills his diaper (not yet developed an appreciation for the potty chair),
