A trek to the pumpkin patch is an annual tradition...

We also enjoyed a trip to an apple orchard...

Pumpkin Patch #2

Silas had his first school field trip last month, and he looked forward to it with great anticipation all week long. It turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous fall day for a trip to the pumpkin patch. This time we left brother with a sitter so it was a special mother-son time. I'm probably partial, but isn't he just the cutest?

Actually, turns out, there's a few girls in his class that think he's pretty cute, too...

This pumpkin patch had a ton of fun things to do... mazes, forts, slides, animals, tractors, playgrounds, and freshly made apple cider and donuts.

Pumpkin Patch

Our annual trek to the pumpkin patch was actually met with some sunny weather this year! The boys enjoyed picking out their own pumpkins, as usual:

Titus enjoyed tromping through the mud just as much...
And climbing the pile of pumpkins....

Silas tried to avoid getting his hands too dirty, as usual...

They also had a hay fort, maze, and giant slide which provided some great entertainment...

Pumpkin Patch

October is not complete without a visit to the pumpkin patch. We ventured out last Saturday despite some threatening clouds and the boys each picked out a pumpkin.

Next, we headed over to the hay fort and hay maze. Both boys thought it was a ton of fun. Good thing Matt came too because they were running in opposite directions nearly the whole time!

It took a dead end to finally trap them in the same place for a picture.

We wrapped up the excursion with a ride in a trailer pulled by a tractor.

Family Reunion

Last month we got together with Matt's grandparents, parents, sister, brother, and their families for a little Jones family reunion in Seaside. Silas and Titus had a blast playing with their cousins (Silas still asks me "See cousins next week?" because I was telling him that before we left). They went to the pool at least once a day since there was a great kiddie pool at the condos where we stayed.

We also took them on a little train ride which Silas loved. He just stared in amazement. Matt had to take him again.

This is Matt with his brother, sister, and dad. Silas thought cleaning up was more important than taking pictures.

Pumpkin Patch

This year both boys got to pick out pumpkins. Silas, of course, tried the biggest one he saw first, but after a few attempts he was happy to find one more his size. Titus stared at his very intently... I think he was trying to figure out if he could eat it.

Fall Fun

Today was a beautiful fall day so I decided to wear the kids out with a walk around the neighborhood. I was successful, since they are both now sleeping! Silas carried his ball the whole way, only stopping to say "woo woo" when we passed a dog or to point out the airplanes:

In the evenings Matt likes to wear them out by playing tackle:

I always thought it was crazy that some kids had to have the crusts taken off before they would eat sandwiches, and I had planned to never let Silas learn that. Unfortunately, some things don't have to be taught... apparently little boys are born with the instinct to rip the crusts off as they eat:
