Easter with cousins

For Easter we headed over the mountains for a little cousin time. As usual, the kids had a great time running around and having a great time - it doesn't matter how long it's been since we've seen them, they always just pick right back up where they left off. Nine kids = a LOT of noise and craziness but it's worth it.

Here's the biggers dying Easter eggs...

Easter

We did a little Easter egg hunt for the boys in the back yard and they had a blast. Yes, I know they are using their Halloween buckets... that's because we still had them on the counter because they were STILL working on eating through all the candy. So I didn't bother buying Easter baskets.

I found these super-cute suits at Costco so we all got decked out for Easter service on Sunday.

And, we attempted some family pictures...

Easter

Silas and Titus were quite good at Easter Egg hunting this year. They participated in several, including one I did in the backyard in which I put goldfish crackers in the eggs. As you can imagine, I was not nearly as popular as Grandma, who came over the next day with eggs that EACH had a chocolate kiss AND a half dozen M&Ms or jelly beans.

or the other Grandma, who gave them each an entire chocolate bunny....

We hosted both sets of grandparents for Easter dinner, and the boys were over the moon excited about having two Grandmas over.

Easter

We headed over to the other side of the mountains to find some snow for Easter weekend. We got so excited every time we came across it that I forgot to take pictures of the boys playing in it. It was so cute, too, because Titus would run up, grab two fistfuls of snow, and shout "NNOOO!" while throwing it out in front of him. Anyway, it was really pretty:

On Saturday we stayed with Grandma and Papa at a little house they rented in Sunriver for four days. Silas got to help carry the wood for the fire!

Then on Sunday we headed over to Redmond to see cousins! Silas loves these guys so much that the entire week beforehand any time I wanted him to behave I would just say "If you're a good boy we get to go see cousins this weekend" and he straitened right up. I suppose it would be wrong to continue to use that tactic since we probably won't see them again for several months. :(

Here's the newest cousin, Cameron:

Silas likes to be affectionate:

We joined the cousins in coloring Easter eggs. Silas was thrilled about tossing the eggs into little cups of water...

...and Titus was thrilled about eating them.

The traditional attempt at a cousin portrait. This gets harder with every kid we add. :)

Easter Egg Hunt

Weeks of training from Grandma Kaye on the skill of finding Easter eggs paid off today as Silas participated in his first Easter egg hunt. Grandma has been hiding plastic eggs around her house for him to find when he visits. So when we left this morning and I asked him if he wanted to find some Easter eggs, he got really excited. It was impossible to keep him still while we waited for it to start, he just wanted to take off running:

The hunt was over almost as fast as it began.... 1,200 plastic eggs were no match for a couple hundred kids. Here's Silas inspecting his loot:

Usually Silas is pretty shy around strangers, and he flat out refused to sit on Santa's lap at the fire department Christmas party, but apparently a bunny is a whole different matter:
