Fire banquet

Because occasionally our parents/grandparents actually do like to see what we're up to, not just pictures of our kids....

This month was our annual fire department awards banquet... a.k.a. excuse for me to make Matt wear a tie and take me out to a nice dinner he doesn't have to pay for

What is this white stuff?

We woke up yesterday morning to a blanket of snow on the ground... which doesn't happen very often around these parts. We were mesmerized.

The boys immediately headed out to play.

 

And eat.

The snow all melted away with the afternoon sun, then came back again in the evening.... and back out they went. They shoveled off the whole patio in 10 minutes. Somebody should put that skill to good use!

 

Of course, warming up with hot chocolate afterward was a highlight.

Everything looks prettier with a blanket of snow...
