Around the House

Silas likes to help out around the house. The other day I dropped my cell phone behind the couch, and being 6 months pregnant I didn't really want to go crawling after it. So I set Silas down on the floor next to the back of the couch and pointed and said "Go get mommy's phone," and he crawled right in after it and retrieved it for me.

He also helps with the laundry. Our washer and dryer are stacked, with the dryer on top, so he pulls the wet clothes out of the washer and hands them up to me to put in the dryer.

Letting an almost-one-year-old feed himself makes for a lot of messes. But, Silas is happy to clean himself:

Silas is also learning to argue. Yesterday he reached for something he wasn't supposed to have and I said "no." He looked back at me and said, "yeah!"
